Where can I download audio books without signing up for a subscription?

I done a little searching online and every site I find is a subscription site. I don't read enough books to pay x amount of dollars a month and would rather download the few I want to read. My local library doesn't have a great selection. Being able to play them on an mp3 player would be more convenient than an e book reader. This was the best category I could find for my question, I hope enough informative people come across it.Where can I download audio books without signing up for a subscription?

One way would be to have your employer pay for them - so they're free for you. (that's what my company does - audio books as an employee benefit.) The library may be a good source - but often the focus is fiction instead of self-help. Best place to find free self help audio books online?
Tony Robbins likes to be paid for his writing. Use the public library for his books because then tax dollars pay for the audio book and Tony Robbins is paid.Best place to find free self help audio books online?

Adding audio books from a CD to the iTunes 'Books' library and not the 'Music' library.?

I've stared using iTunes and I've downloaded an audio book from Audible.co.uk. This worked fine and it now appears in the "books" library. Unfortunately I already have a few audio books on CD and after copying them to the computer they appear in the Music library. is there anyway I can get them into the Books library instead so i can keep everything together?Adding audio books from a CD to the iTunes 'Books' library and not the 'Music' library.?
yes all you have to do is go into itunes find the audiobook in itunes right click on it and go to get info then go to the options tab and click media kind and choose book or audiobook i'm not sure which but try both. Then eventually it will be in your books library.

Preferably free.Where do I find audio books?
http://podiobooks.com/ is the best place for new free audio books, I love the creative commons license

You can search your interests and ad word podcast and you are likely to find more free contentWhere do I find audio books?
audiable.com (check spelling on google). Not free. You can get free ones on Limewire but that's illegal, and you can also pirate them with utorrent or other torrent programs. Google the audiobook you want and torrent, and you'll probably find it somewhere.

If you get it for free, chances are it's illegal.

Are Doctor Who Audio Books considered canon?

The new audio book featuring the eleventh doctor called "The Runaway Train" came out and was wondering whether it's considered canon or not.Are Doctor Who Audio Books considered canon?
Yes they are, and so are the novels, they're official cos they all go through the BBC. As they are "BBC Audio Books" and "BBC Books"Are Doctor Who Audio Books considered canon?
Heh. I love The Runaway Train.

Anyway, yes, they are. Some people will say no, but Russel T Davies said yes when he was in charge of the show, and Steven Moffat hasn't said otherwise, to my knowledge. If it's from the BBC, it's legit.

I think there's some controversy about the Big Finish audios, but most people see it as canon. Unless it absolutely, 100% contradicts the show, it's canon, in my mind. You have to remember that this is a show that often contradicts itself, and we're always making excuses for the writers.

Enjoy Runaway Train without fear, my friend! For badass Amy Pond is always welcome. Are Doctor Who Audio Books considered canon?
No. 100% no they are not.

Not unless they are mentioned in the series.... and none of them are to my knowledge.

The audio books and novels are just a fun way to enjoy Doctor Who when the show isnt on. But the show itself doesnt treat them as canon, nor do most of the fans.
