Any tips for enjoying audio books?

I like audio books in theory, but when I try to listen to one I find my mind wandering or having to rewind because I didn't catch something. How do you listen? In bed? In front of your computer? Maybe I just need the written word. Any tips that could enhance my enjoyment?Any tips for enjoying audio books?
I can't listen to them unless I'm doing something else at the same time - often something that doesn't require a lot of active "story processing" brain power. Painting a room, driving, doing a puzzle or doing graphic design projects on my computer.

I can't just sit and enjoy them in my room. I might as well be reading at that point! Reading is faster than listening and doesn't make me feel like I need to be doing something at the same time.
I generally listen to audio books in car.

Most importantly,i use audiobooks only in the case of non-fiction.Hence even if i miss out once in a while i still follow what is being said.

as far as fiction is concerned,it cant replace the paperback.Any tips for enjoying audio books?
Listen to them while you are doing something that would make it impossible to read.

I love to listen when I'm cleaning, weeding, walking or knitting. I load books from the library on my MP3, hook it on my lanyard %26amp; I'm much happier cleaning AND listening.Any tips for enjoying audio books?
I'm the same way. I like them in theory, but don't enjoy them because my mind wanders easily.

I mainly listen to them while driving. First time, it's hard, but once I associate the car with a good story, over time, I've paid more attention to it.
You can read your books anywhere you want and as often as you want.in the kitchen, bathroom, sittin room, on the couch, on the carpet and anywhere else you may feel like.
