Listening to music and audio books while pregnant?

Ok, I like to listen to the Harry Potter books on audio when I go to bed. But I heard that it's better for your babies to listen to classical music. So, I programed my ipod to play 1 hr of HP and then go into classical music. What effect do you think this will have on my twins?

I think it's great.

I read to my son when my wife was pregnant, and I still do! He's an avid reader and has always been well above average in reading and comprehension. I'm not sure if there's a direct correlation, but I like to believe that there is. I think Classical Music would be soothing to you baby too.
it well probably get them more familiar with the music,

they might even recognize it.

congrats on the twins!Listening to music and audio books while pregnant?
Probably nothing. There have been studies that suggest that classical music makes babies smarter but there is not scientific fact around it.Listening to music and audio books while pregnant?
I'm pretty sure it will make them smarter
There will be no effect, They say to play classical music because they find it soothing in the womb and they will calm down with it when they are here. If they are listening to Harry Potter, then they will enjoy hearing it when they are here as it will be familiar.
okay trust me it won't hurt them at all but be sure to turn the volume down they'll love reading and classical music relaxes them so no more hurt for you
there is no proof that classical music will make a baby smarter, but it is certainly very relaxing and meditative! I can see audio books doing that to =)
i heard its suppose to making your babies smarter. when my mom was pregnant she did the same thing but put the heard phones on her stomach once in a while. i promise you when my sister was born she had a nature attraction to those songs and vincent van gogh paintings... weird lol
I really don't think that babies can start to understand the words from the Harry Potter audio book but the classical music will make them smart.

Lets not hope he doesn't develop some Harry Potter obsession, and wants to become a witch.
Probably nothing. However, since there was some research years back that indicated that while classical music isn't likely to be of any help to the normal child, a child with brain injury may benefit due to what appeared to be an increase in creating bypasses to damaged or malformed synapses in the brain. If nothing else, if mom is all calm and rested, babies will be all calm and rested too. You would create an automatic response - classical music - calm and rested. That could be helpful with twins. ;)

Good choices btw, I love Jim Dale and have most of the series on audio.
They will recognize the music after they are born; but studies have not been able to prove that it makes them smarter...
