Where can I find a site where I can download audio books for free?

I want to download audio books to put on my mp3 player so i can listen to them at work. All of the sites i've found so far only have like 19th century stuff that isn't on my list.

I'm looking for stuff by authors like Anne Rice, Amy Tan, Doug Adams

You can get them from LimeWire, it's not exactly a website but a P2P program which you have to download to your computer.
LimeWire is a file sharing program, which allows you to download music, videos, books...any sort of file in short from other users who have that file....for a better definition I suggest you look up LimeWire on Wikipedia, you can contact me if you need any assistance.

Check with your public library -- mine offers free downloadable audiobooks through netlibrary.com and is going to start using Overdrive.com soon. You can transfer them to portable devices, as well. They have old stuff and new stuff. Hope yours does, too!
