How do you play audio books on an mp3 player?

I'm thinking of getting an mp3 player and I am curious about whether podcasts and audio books are seen as music on them. I'm worried when I'm listening to music on shuffle at work that I might suddendly get a book which would distract me.How do you play audio books on an mp3 player?
You want an MP3 player that supports playlists. I'm not sure about a Shuffle since there's no screen that would let you browse between playlists. Creative Zen players support playlists.



With the playlists, you can play only music or only books.



Of course, there is also the "fast forward button" button too to skip to another song.



The other reason to get a player with a screen is that you can mark "bookmarks" that let you return to your position in the book after switching to play music. Or, you could get a shuffle for books and podcasts and one for music and switch between them.

audio books are usually just .wav files. you can convert .wav files to mp3 to get more onto the mp3 player.

With Audacity ..you can not only play audio tracks ..but mix them as well.



It's not the best software in it's category but it's FREE.
To convert you can use Cool Edit Pro 2 too. Nice program. Just put the files on youre MP3 player, for instance your Ipod. And start listening to your book. I just finished listening Harry Potter the Order of the Phoenix.
